Jean Jacket Jam 2018
Jean Jacket Jam was a charitable arts initiative created by Brian Walker in partnership with Debonair District, celebrating the “art of charity.” Five selected artists were invited to customize one-of-a-kind jean jackets, which were then auctioned with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Metropolitan Ministries, an organization serving underserved and unhoused individuals and families across the greater Bay Area. Their support extends beyond meals and clothing, offering shelter, workforce preparation, job application assistance, and “dress for success” resources for those entering or re-entering the workforce. Guests were given the option of contributed monetary a donation, minimum being five dollars, or bringing food or clothing donations. The event welcomed all attendees with complimentary food and drinks, creating an atmosphere of creativity, community, and collective impact.
